Pastor John R. Johnson III

Elder John R. Johnson III was born to the proud parents of Mr. John R. Johnson Jr. and Mrs. Barbara K. Johnson. He was reared in Bossier City, Louisiana, and is a graduate of Parkway High School in Bossier City.

He is the proud husband of First Lady Barbara Annette Johnson, the father of seven children, and the grandfather of 16 grandchildren.

At the age of 16, Elder Johnson accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In 2001, he accepted his calling to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and began fulfilling the work God had placed upon his life.

Elder Johnson is a graduate of C. H. Mason Bible College and USAC, United Saints Auxiliary Convocation. In 2006, he served as Youth Minister, faithfully working to encourage and develop the next generation of believers. In 2011, he was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ.

Elder John R. Johnson III is an entrepreneur, visionary, and servant leader with a heart for ministry and a passion for reaching souls. Since becoming pastor, he has continued to build upon the foundation laid by those who came before him while developing men and women for greater service in ministry.

A significant milestone in Pastor Johnson’s leadership occurred on June 10, 2024, when Elder Terry Myles became the first Elder ordained under his pastoral leadership during the Louisiana Central USAC.

The ministry continues to grow and make history. In 2026, Latasha Sholars is scheduled to become the first Evangelist licensed under Pastor Johnson’s leadership during the Louisiana Central Women’s Conference.

These milestones are a testament to Pastor Johnson’s commitment not only to preaching the Gospel and reaching the lost, but also to recognizing, developing, and empowering men and women to fulfill the calling God has placed upon their lives.

Pastor Johnson’s vision for the ministry is rooted in Luke 14:23:

“And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”

His desire is for Haughton Church of God in Christ to be a ministry that goes beyond the walls of the church to reach people wherever they are. His vision includes winning souls for Christ, strengthening families, developing believers, preparing future leaders, and serving the community.

Pastor Johnson’s mission is simple yet powerful: to be a fisherman of souls, carry the legacy forward, and take the ministry to the next level.

Through faith, vision, and continued service, Haughton Church of God in Christ Miracle Center remains committed to being “A Church Where Everybody Is Somebody and Jesus Is Lord.”
